Hickson hits 24, but Cavs lose in Summer League

Las Vegas- Cleveland's No. 1 pick J.J. Hickson scored a game-high 24 points but it was not enough as the Cavs lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, 88-72, Sunday in the final NBA Summer League game.

Hickson scored 11 of the Cavaliers' 25 first-quarter points. He finished the game 10-of-17 from the field with five rebounds.

Clay Tucker and Romel Beck each chipped in with 14 points for the Cavs.

Las Vegas- Cleveland's No. 1 pick J.J. Hickson scored a game-high 24 points but it was not enough as the Cavs lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, 88-72, Sunday in the final NBA Summer League game.

Hickson scored 11 of the Cavaliers' 25 first-quarter points. He finished the game 10-of-17 from the field with five rebounds.


Clay Tucker and Romel Beck each chipped in with 14 points for the Cavs.

Six Bucks scored in double figures, led by Darius Washington with 12 on 6-of-10 shooting. Luc Mbah a Moute, Matt Freije, Roderick Wilmont and Trey Johnson each scored 11.

The Bucks finish the Summer League with a 4-1 record, while the Cavaliers head back to Cleveland winless (0-5).

In the second half, the Bucks extended their lead to as many as 18 points on 58 percent shooting from the field during the third quarter. Milwaukee's lead then teetered around the 10-point mark through much of the fourth quarter before the eventual 16-point victory.
